My first weekend at uni… I’m studying the MAPP which is a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology at Melbourne Uni and last weekend was our first intensive. I think this was a warm up task, we had to create a blog to reflect how we felt after our first intensive, so here goes!
In reflection of my experience after the first intensive, I feel a little like I imagine my son would have felt, sitting in this half built tree house, just hanging out with his cousin and friend from down the road.
It’s stable. I’m safe. I know it’s going to be wonderful, yet I can’t help a sense of apprehension at being a little high and out of my comfort zone. So far it’s fun, intriguing and there’s some awesome people I’m super excited about hanging out with… just as I’m sure Dylan feels about his tree house.
I also recognise the need to let go of my expectation of how the tree house should be, it’s made with up-cycled materials, built with love and certainly isn’t going to win any architectural tree house prizes. In moving forward, I’m putting my trust in the Builder (good job Lindsay) just as I know my son explicitly trusts my husband to build this new tree house, which will becomes central to many beautiful moments, just as the MAPP will for me.
